New Work

For a long time now - I have been working on a large scale project. When I finish it's going to be the most bad ass thing ever. Sometimes, it has been slow, becuase it has not always been easy. I go to concerts yes - but being around Rock Star and my friends gives me hope. It is not so much a distraction, as much as it is the thing that keeps me going.

There have been times, when I didn't see the point - but, Rock Star, in some weird was is always there. He gives me new music - I make new work. I am very excited about this project. When it is done, it will be consist of an instalation, many books, videos, many many drawings and a performance.......

I built a harp - this will be part of the installation. No sillies, I will not play it - that is Rock Star's job - I will be elsewhere doing other things. And don't expect actual Rock Star to show up and play either... That work will be done by a sculpture, since I rock the house at making sculptures...

This is one of the drawings I've been working on. I keep making drawings, of all the major events in Band's history. This one is the death of Laya. Laya was Cel's first guitar player, her loss was an awful thing for him. Eventually this lead to the creation of Gard. More on that later.

I am very tired now. I wrote a lot today. It's all his fault... But I really like him for it. It means everything to me. I'll post more new work soon. Now I have to watch a little Die Hard and go to bed.

Yippee-ki-yay, Motherfuckers!

Rock Star Thanksgiving '07

So, I had to cook my Rock Star Thanisgiving Dinner – which meant I had to get up early – it was really cool because the full moon was still out.

When you get up at 4:30 A.M. to cook Thanksgiving dinner, theres only one thing to do while cooking – Watch Madonna Confesssions Tour!!!! Fucking A. And also between cutting things up and watching Madonna’s amazing ass in Gaultier – you have to do the goofy horsey dance.

Yeah Madonna!

Cool.

So, I was toasting the cornbread for the stuffing – and I looked out the window and saw that the full moon was about to set over the water where the sun normally sets – I really wanted to see it so while the corn pudding was cooking I thought I’d run out with my iPod, play some more Confessions Tour songs and watch the moon set and the sun rise.

There is no time…

Once upon a time,
there was a boy and the was a girl-
Hearts that intertwine
Lived in a different kind of world

Forbidden Love-

Are we supposed to be together?
Forbidden Love
Forbidden Love

Staring up into the heavens
In this hell that binds your hands
Will you sacrifice your comfort?
Make your way in a foreign land?

Mmmmmm
Im ninalu Im ninalu
Mmmmmm
Im ninalu Im ninalu

Bring the heaven and the stars
Down to earth for me –

Mmmmmm
Im ninalu Im ninalu

Ok that’s enough dancing on the beach for now – back to cooking.

This is the cranberry thing I make all the time. It’s awesome. Some I know a few people asked me for the recipe, so I’m going to teach everyone how to make it:

Ingredients:

3 large Rome apples = 6 cups diced
3 Cups fresh cranberries
2 TBL spoons of flour
3/4 cups sugar
3 packs of instant oatmeal (cinnamon sugar)
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1/2-cup flour
1/2-cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup melted butter or marg.
3 large Rome apples = 6 cups diced

First, pre-heat the oven to 350.

Then, put on some David Bowie Live from the BBC disc 3, and peel the apples. Then cut them up and combine the apples, cranberries 2 TBL Spoons of Flour. Stir that shit. Add 3/4 cups of sugar, stir that too. Then pour into casserole.

Put the butter in a wee bowl and stick that in the microwave for about a minute – while it melts, dance around to “Cracked Actor.”

In another bowl, mix up the oatmeal, chopped pecans, 1/2-cup flour brown sugar & butter. Now dump that mix over the apples and cranberries. Bake uncovered 350 – 45 min.

While it bakes, put on “Bella Lugosi’s Dead” preferably the version featuring Trent Reznor & TV on The Radio with Bauhaus. This one is fun for the whole family, sing along change the lyrics make up new ones it’s tits. Whatever it’s better then the show tunes that are on the Parade.

Speaking of the parade! I totally did Hiro Nakamura and made the Thanksgiving day parade happen again! YATTA!!!!!! It’s not Thanksgiving with out the parade – and good music playing over the awful show tunes!!!! “Do you believe in love at first sight-It's an illusion, I don't care-Do you believe I can make you feel better-Too much confusion, come on over here!”

Awww Celestial Complex – the sun finally came up isn’t it pretty?

Eeeeewwww!!! Gross! Ok this is not pretty at all. OK here’s a lil secret – I get really freaked out by the turkey every year, I make someone else do it!!! YUCK!!!! Eeewww eewww ewwww.

So yay! Look – it’s shreck balloon AGAIN! So now we’ve seen it get blown up – we’ve seen it in real life at the parade – TWICE and now we’re seeing it AGAIN on TV!!!! “I benda time, anda space and telaporta!” Hell yeah Hiro!!! And then, holy shit, you will never believe what happened, so I leave the kitchen, I look at the TV, and fucking, who do you think Al Rocker was interviewing!?!

MASI!!!! It’s Hiro!!! Fucking Shit!!!!!!!!! See that!? Thanksgiving Day Parade is all about Hiro and The Time – Space teleporting!!!! Tits!

HELLO KITTY!!!!!!!! (And whatever they tell you, no, I didn’t cry when Kermit’s balloon went by and they played the rainbow connection. I didn’t cry I swear it was from cutting onions. And yes, it still counts that I cut them an hour earlier….)

OK then I cooked for a lot more, and as usual NBC tried to tick us all by telling us that fucking lame ass dog show was Thanksgiving Tradition. Fuck that we all know what really comes on after the parade. So I outsmarted them fucks at NBC like I always do and put on my DVD of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

“Buffalo gals, won't you come out tonight, And dance by the light of the moon.” Aww see that’s a nice lookin turkey! Now that its all cooked!

Look at my Shoes. Shoes. Shoes. These shoes are glittery. Oh my god glitter!

OK, then many a cocktail later – I got a call from The Outer Senshi – Sa Lews called “I hate to be the bearer of bad news…” she says. Turns out, Rock Star had his picture on the cover of The New York Times Arts & Leisure Section. Now for a while me her and De Vars had this joke going about how I’d had a picture of my work on the cover of Arts & Leisure- but Rock Star hadn’t. Well now that was up and we had to tell Rock Star to step off and all.

We talked for a long time as usual and we laughed a lot…. We also talked a lot about The Met’s production of Die Zauberflöte. I was still cooking so I made the stuffing while we talked even though I was kinda tipsy at the time…. I still made really good stuffing.

Aww here’s the covers together. Mine is on the left, and Rock Star’s cover is on the right. Awwww. I know we all laughed and hollered about Rock Star messin on my turf… But its really crazy when you think about it all. Look, there I am next to Rock Star on the cover of the same paper. And looking at it reminds me of the time I was so excited to show him my cover. He was so sweet about it too, he actually you know, took the time to unfold the paper – look at the pic, read it for a few seconds(probably had to make sure I wasn’t trying to bull shit him). Awww well… things I won’t repeat here, but I told him you know, it was because of him that I…. Anyways. I love my crazy ‘lil Rock Star family.

(my photo is a few fractions of an inch bigger, you know in case you were wondering.)

Thanksgiving Shopping Day

So after partying on Thanksgiving Eve with Sa Lews and De Vars, and watching the Parade with my Nephews, on Black Friday I went shopping with my good friend Kym.

I was really happy, because I haven’t seen Lil Kym in a long time. We both picked up some fun Christmas scented products at Bath and Body works.

As usual, they gave me one of those 10% off things if I go in and get like 5 Wall Flowers. Kym didn’t get no 10% off lovin’ from the peeps at Bath and Bodyworks, and that made her a Sad Panda.

Then we were in Urban Outfitters, Kym was all tryin on boots that were called, get this – “Hobbit”! Tits! But she didn’t get those. Also, this chick wearing bike shorts who worked there was all yellin at me for taking pics because we’re not allowed to take pics in stores. At least I think she worked there – wouldn’t that have been weird. Random chick in bike shorts in December walks in off the street telling people not to take pics in Urban Outfitters…

We were then joined by Sa (no relation to Sa Lews). Ugly Doll was his usual posing for photos…

Kym likes to take pics of Ugly Doll. You can read more about Ugly's adventures here:

http://stixandthecity.blogspot.com/search/label/Uglydoll
(pssst Hey meeaaaam! i can't find his blog! Whats the link?)

So then we did more shopping. Sa got more turtlenecks at Forever 21, just in case we didn’t know it was Sa, you know… gotta make sure she’s wearin’ a Turtleneck.

Then I took pics of Kym drinking Starbucks and eating mac and cheese. It was kinda cool, Supermac messed up her order, so she ended up getting TWO packs of mac, AND a cupcake. I didn’t eat any though, you all know how I feel about food, so I just stuck with the coffee products. Hurray sugar-free and skim milk – yeah getting the cancer from the fake sugar….

But I digress. So Kym went off home to see the Mr. And I went home to the other Rock Gards and the Rock Star. Kym kicks ass.

Back at home I was being all Hiro Nakamura - back doing the Thanksgiving time warp again. “Yatta!” Since we were to celebrate Thanksgiving on Saturday – I put on a previously taped David Letterman Thanksgiving Episode – AWSOME. ‘Cuz it’s just not Thanksgiving with out Letterman prank calling The Butterball Hotline, dropping shit off the roof for the Ed Sulivan Theater, hosing down Richard Simmons – or calling his mom to guess what kinda pie she made! David Letterman’s Mom rocks. “Two words Dave, Old Milwaukee”. Letterman even guessed BOTH of her pies. Go Letterman.

There was also this big full moon, and even thought I was going to have to get up at 4:30 am to cook - I couldn’t resist going out with the iPod to play Rock Star’s new remix CD.

I pushed a button and-

Huh - uh!

Nice.

Step off Nucca!

THIS JUST IN!

I’m breaking from my Rock Star Thanksgiving coverage to post this:

My people have contacted me with the news that --Rock Star and his band are currently featured on the cover of The New York Times Arts & Leisure Section. What the fucks up with that shit – Rock Star needs to step off!

Hey, Rock Star – look man, you know I love you, but you need to step the fuck off Nucca! This is my fucking territory. What, do you think you’re cool now, and that you can be featured on The New York Times Arts and Leisure Section?!?

Now look Rock Star. I just want to take this opportunity to point out, that TWO years ago – That’s TWO YEARS before you, I was featured on the cover of The New York Times Arts & Leisure section. See – here:

And here’s another shot:

Now it’s a little blurry but there in black and white, is MY name (not yours) and a photo of MY work – TWO YEARS before Rock Star. So, Rock Star – that’s really great that you’ve now made it up here with me in the cool zone of artists who’ve been featured on the Arts and Leisure Section cover. Congratulations on all that – but remember this – I was on it BEFORE YOU.

You just think of that every time you look at that mother-fucking thing Mother Fucker!

Thanksgiving Day Parade!

So after being out late drinking with Sa Lews and De Vars – I somehow managed not to wake up hung over! Which was a good thing since I’d crashed at my brother’s and the next morning my wee nephews woke me up by jumping on me, hitting me and growling at me. It was awesome. My nephews are awesome.

Now I likes to keep work and family separate. See, being the crazy Art Star/Rock Star Gard, it’s not the kinda thing one wants one’s family getting mixed up in. But, since it was Thanksgiving and since we all saw the parade and it was awesome, I’m gonna post some pics. I’m not really gonna post pics of the family, cuz like, I ought not to, but I will post some pics of my nephew’s art!! Check out this drawing – its F---in awesome!! (I can’t curse in this post either, the kids, you know) .

Check out this drawing – its F---in awesome!! (I can’t curse in this post either, the kids, you know) .

But remember being little and in school and making all that cool F---ing Thanksgiving art work when you trace your fingers and make Turkey’s and make pilgrim hats outa Macaroni and Indian hats outa feathers! God that was f----in awesome. TOTTALY not PC, but F---ing cool as H---! So yeah, seeing my nephew’s turkey art like, made my day. I so miss Kindergarden art. It totally blows away any like gallery art.

So, me, my brother, my sister-in-law and m’ two nephews and I walk across Central park to see the Thanksgiving Day Parade – and its so warm and nice again, just like the night before. Only now it’s sunny and REALLY warm. Rock Star would be P--SED. Thanksgiving in New York City, especially in area’s surrounding the parade – are the coldest, rainiest, and like, worst weather conditions imaginable – but this was like a spring day. Wow. Global warming strikes again… Sorry Rock Star…

So we got to the parade and it was SO awesome! Right away the Engergizor Bunny Balloon went by – remember – we saw him get blown up last night!!

Cool!

I took pics of me with the boys, but, I ought not post pics of the family… They might not like that. You know just like I’m sure Sa and De don’t like hwen I post pics of them either. Heheheh.

Then we saw Shreck!!! Me and the boys were so excited to see Shreck go by.

Then into the parade fun – came crashing in The Art World. See, ‘cuz no matter what all my lives collide. This is Jeff Koon’s Rabbit. Now we will have none of that art world pretentiousness here! Today, the carrot is just a carrot, the bunny is just a bunny – there’s CHILDREN present now!

Then we saw Dora The Explorer – with her was Backpack and Map too!

Then Mr. Potato Head went by. My brother wondered why Mr. Potato Head’s watch said “11:46, one would think it would be something like 11:22”. I myself wondered why Mr. Potato Head had a watch at all. Since when does Mr. Potato Head have a watch and a Purple Sippy Cup?!?

Then Pikachu went by with the Poké Ball. Yeah, the boys thought it was really funny when I started yelling for Pikachu.

Then there was a Snowman. My Mum really loves snowmen, so, I took a pic.

Now see, my nephews are really awesome, but here’s why my nephews rule. See, Dylan is five. He’s all excited to see Dora and Shreck and all, and he’s asking me to take pics – but along comes a guitar float – kid starts freaking out – “Take a pickture, take a pickture!!! “ He’s the most excited I’ve seen him all day to see the guitar float. I took a pic, I showed it too him ---- and then he says – “I LOVE guitars”.

I’m telling you, this kid, is his Aunt’s Nephew….. I swear, I didn’t even start him on that…

Then Kermit went past. It was unreal. People were actually chantting for Kermit! How cool is that? But, then, we all know what a Rock Star Kermit is! Wait wait, none of that Sad Kermit, remember what I said about not in front of the kids. We’ve all seen his heartfelt rendition of Rock Star's song, but I cannot endorse such behavior as displayed in the video when there’s children present.

Oh my god – then Santa finally came! Santa Santa!!!

I love Santa! He’s like the biggest Rock Star of them all! (Next to my Rock Star of course) But he had such Charisma and he was so happy to be on the awesome swan float! Santa Rocks!!!

Then the parade ended and there was a mass exodus of people from the Upper West side of the park by the Dakota. So I told said bye to my family and my brother and sister in law joked with me about my journey home – I had to get from the Upper West Side to Penn Station, then take a train home to Rock Star house – Celestial Complex. So they said, “Have a nice walk.” “I know!” I said. Then my brother joked with me that if I walked quick enough I could catch up with the parade at Herrald Square and see it all over again!

Heh, so sure enough, the subway was like scary full of people, and since it was the nicest day ever, I walked from 77th to 34th. And I’m walking and just as I get to Penn Station, I look up the street and low and behold, there was Pikachu!!

I did it! I did catch up with the Parade and see it again. I took a pic – look it’s the Snowman Balloon again!!

So I had to call my brother. I told him he wasn't kidding about that catching up with the Parade thing. So I did get to see it twice. He thought it was awesome. He said, I was like Hiro doin the time warp and all. And then I thought about it, and I thought, said, “Yeah, I am like Hiro!!-

“Yatta!!!!!!”

Wow!! That sure was Awsome!!! And there’s still TWO more days of Thanksgiving Festivities to come! Stay tuned!
